What we set
- Sign-in token. A random string that keeps you signed in after you use Google or an email code. It holds no password. It expires and is deleted when you sign out.
- Language preference. Whether you chose English, Roman Urdu or Urdu, so the site opens in your language next time.
- City preference. The city you last chose, so jobs and kaarigars show for the right place.
- Visitor beacon. A small request to our own server that records the page you opened, the page that sent you, your device type and screen size, and a one-way hashed form of your IP address. We do not store the raw IP address. This helps us see which pages and cities people use. The data is kept for ninety days.
What we do not set
We set no advertising cookies today. We do not use a third-party analytics script, a tracking pixel or a retargeting tag. If we add one in future, this page will say so first, and where the law requires it we will ask for your consent before it runs.
Third parties
If you sign in with Google, Google sets its own cookies during that sign-in step under Google's own policy. If you open our WhatsApp link, WhatsApp handles that under Meta's policy. If you watch an intro video hosted by a video service, that service may set its own cookie. We do not control these.
How to clear or block cookies
Every browser lets you delete cookies and site data. On a phone, open the browser settings, find "site data" or "privacy", and clear data for mechanics4u.com. On a computer, the same option is in the privacy settings. If you block cookies completely, you will need to sign in each time and the site will forget your language and city. The rest of the site still works.
Visitors outside Pakistan
Mechanics4U serves Pakistan and is run under the law of Pakistan. We know that some countries require a cookie banner and consent for anything beyond strictly necessary cookies. Our beacon is our own, stores a hashed IP only, and sets no advertising cookies. If we begin serving a city outside Pakistan we will review this page for that place before launch.
