Ratings and rankings: how a kaarigar climbs the city page

Every city and trade page on Mechanics4U lists kaarigars in an order, and customers pick from the top. Here is what moves you up: how fast you reply, how many jobs you finish, what customers say, and how complete and switched on your profile is.

The six things that count

We publish what counts, not the exact weights. Everything here is what a good kaarigar does anyway.

Response speed

The single fastest way up. A customer who posts "AC cooling nahi kar raha" at 2 pm is choosing by 3 pm. Kaarigars who send a price inside the first hour get picked far more often, and being picked feeds every other signal on this page. Turn on notifications, keep your phone with you, and send a real price rather than "call me". A price with one line of what it covers beats a bare number.

Jobs completed

A job counts when it was booked on Mechanics4U and the customer marks it done. Jobs you arrange off the platform after getting the number do not count, and they are not covered by the 48-hour guarantee either, which customers know. At the end of each job, ask the customer to mark it done in the app. It takes them one tap and it is what moves you.

Reviews

  • Only the customer of a completed job can leave a review. Nobody else, and we check.
  • Recent reviews count for more than old ones. A bad month can be recovered.
  • Reply to every review, good or bad, from your profile. Customers read the replies, and a calm reply to a bad review often does more good than the review did harm.
  • Fake reviews, reviews from your own family, or reviews you paid for are removed and the profile drops. It is not worth it.

CNIC on file, profile completeness, availability

CNIC. A person on our team looks at the front and back photos and compares them with your account before you go live. A profile with that check done ranks above one without it, and customers filter for it. Blurry photos delay the check, so take them in daylight on a flat surface.

Profile. A photo of your face, your trades, the areas you cover, at least six work photos, a short video, and services written in your own words. "Split AC service, gas top-up, PCB repair, Gulshan and Jauhar" tells a customer more than "AC technician". Complete profiles rank above thin ones, and they get picked more, which ranks them higher again.

Availability. Your availability switch tells the site you can take work today. Kaarigars with it on and hours set appear above those with it off. If you are away for Eid or a family wedding, switch it off; a job you accept and then cannot do hurts you more than a week of being off.

What pushes you down

  • Not turning up to a job you accepted, or cancelling after the customer chose you.
  • Quoting one price and asking for another at the door. The price agreed in the chat is the price.
  • Asking the customer to leave the platform to book, or taking the number and disappearing.
  • A 48-hour re-work you refused to honour.
  • Complaints that a person on our team looked into and upheld.

Sab se bara nuksan: kaam le kar na aana. Agar nahi ja sakte to pehle bata dein.

What does not help

Paying. There is no paid placement today. When Verified Pro launches, plan members will be shown above free members only among kaarigars with similar ratings; a paid kaarigar with slow replies and poor reviews still sits below a free one with fast replies and good reviews. Multiple accounts do not help either; they get merged or closed.

Questions people ask

Can I pay to be at the top?

Not today. There is no paid placement. When Verified Pro launches it will show plan members above free members among kaarigars with similar ratings, but a paid kaarigar with bad reviews and slow replies will still sit below a free kaarigar with good ones.

Who can leave a review?

Only the customer of a job that was booked on Mechanics4U and marked done. Nobody else. Reviews from friends, relatives or bought accounts are removed when we find them, and the kaarigar's ranking drops.

I got an unfair review. What can I do?

Reply to it from your profile, politely, with your side. Customers read replies. If the review breaks our rules, abuse, a job that never happened, a fault that was not yours, message 0313 2813999 with the job reference and a person will look.

Why did I go down when I did nothing wrong?

Usually because someone else went up: they replied faster or finished more jobs that week. Sometimes because your availability was off for a while, or a review came in. Ranking is relative to the other kaarigars on the same page.

Do you publish the formula?

No. We publish what counts, on this page, and we keep the weights private so nobody can game them. Everything on this list is something a good kaarigar does anyway.

Does a new kaarigar have any chance?

Yes. A complete profile with CNIC checked and availability on starts you in a reasonable place, and fast replies move you up before your first review arrives.
