What is covered
- A job that was booked and marked complete through Mechanics4U.
- The same fault that the kaarigar was hired to fix, returning within 48 hours of the job being marked complete.
- The kaarigar's labour for the return visit. No labour charge is made.
- If the same kaarigar cannot return within a reasonable time, a replacement kaarigar at no cost to you for labour.
What is not covered
- Parts and materials. If a new part is needed on the return visit, you pay for the part. The kaarigar must tell you the part price before fitting it.
- A new or different fault. A different problem, even in the same machine or the same room, is a new job.
- Customer-supplied parts. If you supplied the part and the part failed, the cover does not apply to that part. The kaarigar's labour to fit a replacement can still be quoted.
- Work outside the agreed scope. The cover applies only to what was agreed in the chat and quoted for.
- Damage after the job. A fault caused by misuse, an accident, a power surge, water, or work by someone else after the kaarigar left.
- Jobs done off the platform. If the job was not booked and completed through Mechanics4U, we cannot see it and cannot cover it.
- Inspection-only visits. A visit where the kaarigar only diagnosed and did no repair.
The 48-hour window
The clock starts when the job is marked complete in the app. It runs for 48 hours. You must tell us, or the kaarigar in the chat, within that time. A claim raised after 48 hours is at the kaarigar's discretion. We still encourage kaarigars to help, but we cannot require it.
How to claim
- Open the job in your account and write in the chat that the same fault has returned. A photo or short video helps.
- If you cannot reach the kaarigar within a few hours, email support@mechanics4u.com or WhatsApp 0313 2813999 with the job and the problem.
- The kaarigar agrees a return time with you. If they do not respond within 24 hours, or cannot come within a reasonable time, we arrange a replacement kaarigar.
- On the return visit the kaarigar fixes the same fault. If a part is needed, they tell you the price first.
If the two sides disagree
Sometimes a kaarigar says it is a new fault and the customer says it is the same one. In that case, follow the Dispute resolution steps. Our team reads the chat, looks at the photos, and may ask a second kaarigar to look. Our decision on whether the cover applies is final within the platform. It does not remove any right you have under the law of Pakistan.
The kaarigar's side
Every kaarigar agrees to this cover when they register. A kaarigar who refuses a valid claim gets a rating note and can be ranked lower. Repeated refusals lead to removal. See the Repairer Terms.
