Step 1: the chat
Most problems are a misunderstanding about scope, price or timing. Write to the other person in the job chat. Say plainly what went wrong and what you want. Give them a day to reply. Keep it in the chat, not on a phone call, so there is a record.
Step 2: support
If the chat does not solve it, email support@mechanics4u.com or WhatsApp 0313 2813999. Include the job reference, what happened, what you have already tried, and photos if you have them. A person replies within 24 hours on working days. We may ask you questions, and we will ask the other side for their account of it.
Step 3: Mechanics4U mediation
Our team reads the chat, the job record and the photos. We may ask a second kaarigar to give an opinion on the work. We then propose a fair outcome. Examples:
- A return visit under the 48-hour cover.
- A replacement kaarigar at no labour cost.
- Payment of the agreed price, or of part of it for part of the work.
- Removal of a review, or a rating note against a profile.
- Limiting or closing an account.
We aim to give a decision within five working days of having both sides. Our decision is final within the platform. We can act on accounts, ratings and the 48-hour cover. We do not hold your money, so we cannot move money from one person to another. See Pricing and payments.
Step 4: the law
If mediation does not settle it, either side can take the matter to the courts. The Terms of use are governed by the law of Pakistan, and the courts of Karachi, Sindh have jurisdiction. Nothing on this page removes a right you have under the law of Pakistan. We cooperate with a lawful request from a court or the police, including by providing the chat record.
What helps a dispute go quickly
- The scope and the price written in the chat before the visit.
- A photo of the fault before the work and of the finished work after it.
- A note in the chat of what was paid.
- Reporting the problem within 48 hours, especially for a returning fault.
Disputes about a review
Reviews follow their own rules. See Ratings and reviews.
