Who sets the price
The kaarigar does. Mechanics4U has no fixed tariff. When you post a job, kaarigars in your city read it and send a price for that job. Prices differ because kaarigars differ. You compare and choose. The price shown on a profile is a guide the kaarigar wrote. The price that counts is the one agreed in the chat for your job.
Agree before anyone travels
Write the scope and the price in the chat before the visit. If the kaarigar finds more work on arrival, they must tell you the extra cost and get your yes before doing it. If you did not agree to extra work, you do not owe for it. See the Terms of use.
Parts
Parts are separate from labour unless the quote says otherwise. Ask for the part price before it is fitted. Ask for the old part back if you want to see it. If you supply the part yourself, tell the kaarigar before they quote.
Cash or online
You pay the kaarigar directly. Cash on completion is the usual way. If you and the kaarigar prefer a bank transfer or a mobile wallet, agree it between you. Mechanics4U does not handle the money today and does not see the payment. Keep a note of what you paid, in the chat if possible, so there is a record if a question comes up later.
What Mechanics4U charges
- Customers: nothing. Posting a job, receiving quotes, chat and the 48-hour cover are free.
- Kaarigars: registration is free for the first 100 kaarigars. After that it is PKR 500, paid once. There is no monthly plan, no commission and no charge per job today.
Future fees, disclosed in advance
We may one day add paid plans for kaarigars, lead credits, a commission on completed jobs, or a fee for a premium customer service. If we do, we promise the following:
- The fee, the amount and the rule for it are published on this page before it starts.
- Every affected user is told inside the app and by email or WhatsApp before anything is charged.
- Nobody is charged for something they did not agree to. A kaarigar who does not want a paid plan can stay on the free level or leave.
- Any commission is shown to the kaarigar before they send a quote, so they can price for it.
Escrow, once live
We are considering a payment option where the customer pays into a holding account and the money is released to the kaarigar when the customer marks the job complete. It is not live today. When it is, this page will explain how it works, what it costs, and how refunds and disputes are handled for those payments. Until then, no one from Mechanics4U will ask you to pay money to us for a repair job. If someone does, it is not us. Report it to support@mechanics4u.com.
Receipts and tax
Ask the kaarigar for a receipt if you need one. Kaarigars are independent and are responsible for their own tax. Mechanics4U does not issue invoices for work it did not perform.
