In the on-site chat
- Write about the job. Ask questions, share photos, agree the scope and the price.
- Be polite. English, Roman Urdu or Urdu, whichever you like.
- Do not send messages that are rude, sexual, threatening or about a person's religion, ethnicity, language, gender or family.
- Do not send spam, advertising for other services, or links that have nothing to do with the job.
- Do not ask a customer for their CNIC, and do not ask a kaarigar to send theirs in the chat. We have already checked it.
- Keep the conversation in the chat where possible. If something goes wrong, a chat record is the fastest way for our team to help.
At the customer's home
- Kaarigars: arrive at the agreed time. Say who you are. Show your CNIC if asked. Work in the area you were asked to work in. Do not open cupboards, take photos of the home, or bring extra people without permission. Clean up before you leave. Charge the agreed price.
- Customers: be there at the agreed time. Show the kaarigar the fault and give them room to work. Provide water, a light and a plug point if the job needs them. Pay the agreed price when the work is done.
- Both: a home is private. Be respectful of family members, children and religious observance.
No off-platform solicitation
A kaarigar must not ask a customer to cancel the job and book directly, must not hand out cards saying "next time call me instead", and must not use a customer's number for anything other than that job. A customer must not ask a kaarigar to go around the platform to avoid a fee, since there is no fee. Jobs done off the platform have no chat record, no 48-hour cover and no help from our team. See Guarantee terms.
Harassment means a ban
Any of the following leads to the account being closed, for a customer or a kaarigar, after our team has heard both sides:
- Threats, intimidation or violence.
- Sexual comments, unwanted advances or following someone home.
- Repeated calls or messages after being asked to stop.
- Insults about religion, ethnicity, language, gender, disability or family.
- Posting someone's number, address or photos without consent.
Where a crime may have been committed we advise the person affected to report it to the police, and we cooperate with a lawful request.
How to report
Use the report option in the job or profile, email support@mechanics4u.com, or WhatsApp 0313 2813999. Include the job reference or the profile name and a screenshot if you have one. A person reads every report.
