Cement, bajri and block rate today in Pakistan: how the rates move and how to get the real number for your plot

"Aaj cement ka rate kya hai?" is asked a thousand times a day in Pakistan and the honest answer is: which brand, which city, delivered where, how many bags. Rates move weekly with fuel, the dollar and kiln season. This page explains the units and the drivers so the quotes you receive on Mechanics4U make sense, and so you notice when one is off.

The units suppliers quote in

  • Cement: per 50 kg bag, by brand (Lucky, Bestway, DG, Fauji, Maple Leaf, Attock, Kohat, Pioneer). Retail rate at the depot and delivered rate are different
  • Bajri and crush: per trolley or per cubic foot; Margalla crush in the north, Sindh crush around Karachi and Hyderabad, and the size (half inch, three quarter) matters
  • Sand (ret): per trolley; Chenab, Ravi and Lawrencepur sand are priced differently for plaster and for concrete
  • Blocks: per 1,000, solid or hollow, 4, 6 or 8 inch
  • Bricks: per 1,000, awal (first class), doam, sim; kiln price versus delivered
  • Steel (sariya): per ton or per kg, grade 40 or 60, by mill (Amreli, Mughal, Agha, Ittehad, Model)

Why the rate changes week to week

  • Fuel and transport: a trolley of sand is mostly diesel and distance
  • The dollar: cement plants and steel mills price energy and scrap in dollars
  • Season: brick kilns slow in the monsoon and in Punjab's winter fog; sand and crush rise when quarries flood
  • Government levies and provincial cess announced with budgets
  • Demand: rates in a booming society (Bahria, DHA phases) run above the city average

Why Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and Peshawar differ

Karachi is far from the cement belt of the north but near Sindh crush; Lahore sits between Punjab kilns and Chenab sand; Islamabad and Rawalpindi get Margalla crush cheaply and cement from Attock and Kohat; Peshawar is next to Kohat and Cherat cement. Steel prices are more uniform but delivery from the mill still adds by distance.

How to get the real delivered rate for your plot

Post a material request on Mechanics4U with the plot location, the plot size or the drawing, the quantities you need (or "estimate for 5 marla grey structure"), and when you need delivery. Suppliers in your city reply with their own rates per bag, per trolley, per thousand and per ton, delivered. Compare three, and ask whether unloading is included and how the trolley is measured. The site never invents a rate; the suppliers do the quoting.

A note on "rate today" pages

Any page that prints a single rupee figure for cement today is out of date by Friday. We prefer to show you the real quotes from suppliers near your plot. If you want a rate tracker, the business team can publish the weekly average of accepted quotes per city once enough jobs run through the platform; that number will be real, not typed in.

Common questions

What is the cement rate today in Karachi?

It depends on brand and delivery. Post a request on Mechanics4U and suppliers in Karachi send today's delivered rate per bag for the brand you want.

How many cement bags for a 5 marla house?

It depends on the design, the number of floors and the grey structure specification. Use the material estimate request; suppliers and estimators reply with quantities for your drawing.

Why is bajri quoted per trolley?

Because it is delivered by trolley; ask the trolley size in cubic feet so quotes are comparable.

Grade 40 or grade 60 steel?

Your engineer decides based on the design; grade 60 is stronger per kg and common for columns and beams in multi-storey builds.
